The Gupta Period: India’s Historical “Golden Age”

The period of India’s history that is most often referred to as “the Golden Age” is the Gupta Period, which was between the mid 3rd century to mid 6th century CE. This is not what SRF is referring to when they talk about the Golden Age of India. When SRF talks about “The Golden Age of India” they are referring to what Sri Yukteswar calls the Golden Age or Satya Yuga. They place this time period between 16,300 and 6701 BCE. Please see my other article, Is there Archaeological Evidence for Sri Yukteswar’s “Golden Age”? for more on this topic.
